Connecting to your server through FTP

Managing your server files is an important step to good overall server maintenance.

1. Firstly, you'll need an FTP application. There are a few you can choose however we'd recommend FileZilla or WinSCP. This tutorial will be for FileZilla. Once you've gone to the FileZilla link, you can download the standard FileZilla client.

2. Once you've installed and launched FileZilla, it should look something like this

3. Now that you have FileZilla ready to go, you'll want to head to your server's game panel and go to the "Configuration" section. Once there, go to the "SFTP Settings" and it should have a connection address and a username.

From there, you'll want to copy and paste the connection address into the "Host" field at the top of FileZilla and copy and paste your username into the "Username" field at the top of FileZilla. The last thing needed to connect to your server is your password, it should be the password you use to connect to your game panel. * Not to be confused with your billing account password! All together it should look something like this:

4. As long as all the information is correct, it should connect you to your server once you click on "Quickconnect." From here you can transfer files, download them, upload them, etc. without the limit that the game panel has. It is fairly user friendly so you should be able to drag things around from your desktop to the server and vice-versa.
